Mirae Asset has renamed South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Korbit to Digital X after completing its acquisition of the platform.
The company said Digital X will become an intelligent investment platform that brings together traditional financial products and digital assets.
"Our mission is to combine traditional and digital assets, Mirae Asset's deep expertise and Korbit's unrivaled specialisation, to create a new investment paradigm that no one has yet attempted," Chairman Park Hyeon-joo said in a letter to employees.
Mirae Asset said the rebrand is part of its broader "Mirae Asset 3.0" strategy to expand its presence in digital finance.
The company said the platform will support initiatives including tokenised real-world assets, security tokens and stablecoins as regulations continue to evolve.
Mirae Asset recently increased its ownership of Korbit to 97.15%, making the exchange a central part of its digital asset business.
The move reflects growing efforts by traditional financial institutions to integrate digital assets into broader investment services as the sector matures.
