Ledger has asked resellers and distributors to suspend device sales across six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong while investigating suspected hardware tampering.

The suspension covers Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong, with products to be removed from shelves.

Ledger said confirmed incidents remain contained to Southeast Asia, with no verified cryptocurrency drains linked to devices purchased elsewhere.

The investigation aims to identify who tampered with the devices and where the interference occurred within the distribution chain.

Ledger Donjon, the company’s security research team, will analyse devices it receives as the investigation continues.

Ledger Customer Support will guide users who contact the company through its official support channel.

Ledger said it had no indication that its infrastructure, systems, services or direct sales channel had been compromised.

The suspension remains in place while the investigation continues, with Ledger planning further updates as its security team examines the affected devices.
