Kiyosaki warns yuan oil trade threatens dollar

Robert Kiyosaki warned that Iran’s reported acceptance of yuan-based oil payments could intensify long-term pressure on the US dollar and accelerate broader de-dollarisation trends.

Kiyosaki linked the issue to reports claiming Iran explored oil-related transactions in Chinese yuan, stablecoins and digital assets connected to shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz.

The comments echoed recent warnings from Ray Dalio, who argued that global oil settlement systems remain central to maintaining worldwide demand for US dollars.

“Iran began accepting payment for oil in Chinese Yuan,”

Kiyosaki wrote on X while questioning what the shift could mean for the future of the dollar-based financial system.

The debate centres on the petrodollar structure that has historically tied global energy trade to dollar settlement, reinforcing international demand for US currency and Treasury markets.

Kiyosaki has repeatedly argued that rising government debt, inflation, monetary expansion and geopolitical fragmentation are gradually weakening confidence in fiat currencies and reserve currency dominance.

He also pointed to broader BRICS trade discussions and growing yuan-based trade between China, Russia and Iran as signs that some countries are increasingly exploring alternatives to dollar settlement systems.

Kiyosaki said investors should focus on financial education and continue considering alternative assets including Bitcoin, gold, silver, oil and real estate as hedges against inflation, debt expansion and long-term currency debasement.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $76,652.66.
