HTX has exited the UK following a settlement with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) over crypto promotions.
The FCA launched legal proceedings in October 2025 after HTX repeatedly failed to engage with the regulator.
“Our action means HTX is leaving the UK and can no longer target UK consumers,” FCA Executive Director of Enforcement and Market Oversight Steve Smart said in a statement.
UK customers can no longer deposit funds, while new users cannot register on the exchange.
High Court undertakings prevent Huobi Global S.A. from knowingly communicating unlawful financial promotions through HTX websites, applications and social media.
The undertakings also cover indirect promotions, extending restrictions across HTX's digital platforms and communications.
The FCA began proceedings on 21 October 2025 and publicly announced its enforcement action in February 2026.
The settlement reinforces UK financial promotion rules for overseas cryptocurrency exchanges targeting British consumers.
