Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson proposed a governance overhaul that includes a moderated Discord channel and a coordinated Delegated Representative voting group as the network faces growing disputes over funding and governance.
The proposal comes as ADA has fallen about 32% over the past 30 days, reducing Cardano’s market capitalisation to approximately US$6.3 billion amid broader ecosystem challenges and governance fatigue.
“We will automatically vote no on all funding proposals unless they join and participate in the governance Discord,” said Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson.
Hoskinson said Cardano is facing more than 600 million ADA in funding requests against a 350 million ADA net change limit and argued that clearer governance structures, executive responsibilities and growth targets are needed.
The founder stated that initiatives including RealFi, Midnight, Midgard, Blockfrost, Bitcoin-related projects and the Leios scaling upgrade support Cardano’s long-term development plans, and following the proposals ADA was largely unchanged near US$0.17.
The governance debate follows the winding down of analytics platform TapTools, the departure of several ecosystem contributors and a failed treasury vote related to a proposed 2026 Cardano summit.
Hoskinson also proposed privacy-focused governance discussions using zero-knowledge technology and said Leios is expected to reach testnet on June 23 as Cardano continues efforts to expand network capacity and ecosystem activity.
At the time of reporting, Cardano price was $0.1635.
