Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) faced a major whale sale after 167,855 ETH worth about $408 million hit exchanges.
Lookonchain reported that the whale moved all 167,855 ETH to several exchanges between 30 August and 4 September.
ETH traded near $2,453 on 4 September, staying above the whale’s estimated $2,430 average sale price.
The whale had earlier moved 70,739 ETH worth about $174 million to exchanges before transferring the rest.
US spot Ether ETFs saw $141 million in net inflows on 3 September, according to the report.
BlackRock’s ETHA led those inflows with $72 million, adding buying pressure while the whale sold.
Another group of large wallets also sold about $63 million worth of ETH on 21 August, when ETH traded near $2,350.
At the time of reporting, Ethereum price was $2,453.27.
