Key points
- Crypto.com will stop offering its consumer-facing app to Hong Kong users from 1 February 2027.

- Affected customers have received advance notice and will receive instructions for closing accounts and withdrawing funds.
Crypto.com ends Hong Kong app services on 1 February 2027, according to an exclusive report by Bloomberg.
The shutdown affects its consumer app, while Crypto.com continues pursuing a licence for its institutional exchange.
“This decision reflects our ongoing efforts to optimize global operations and allocate resources where we see the most sustainable long-term opportunities,” a Crypto.com spokesperson said.
Foris DAX HK Limited applied for a Hong Kong virtual-asset trading licence on 9 February 2024.
The application covers Crypto.com Exchange, the company’s institutional-grade trading platform, rather than its consumer app.
Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission lists Foris DAX HK Limited, which operates Crypto.com, as a deemed-to-be-licensed applicant rather than a formally licensed trading platform.
Affected customers have received advance notice and will receive account-closure instructions and support withdrawing their funds.
The move ends Crypto.com’s Hong Kong retail app access, while its institutional exchange licence application remains pending.
