  • CoinDCX confirmed a 15.99 million USDT loss linked to deprecated wallets.
  • A failed automated sweeping service allowed deposits to accumulate in legacy wallet infrastructure.
  • The exchange said it absorbed the loss and that customer balances remained accounted for.

CoinDCX confirmed a loss of 15.99 million USDT after an automated transfer failure affected deposits sent to retired wallets.

The incident involved legacy wallet infrastructure linked to a security breach in July 2025.

“This led to a loss of 15.99 million USDT which was absorbed by the company,” CoinDCX said in its official statement.

The loss occurred after an automated sweeping service failed to transfer deposits from deprecated addresses into the exchange’s primary wallets.

CoinDCX said its systems continued crediting customer accounts despite the transfer failure.

The exchange said customer balances remained accounted for in segregated cold wallets.

CoinDCX plans to strengthen legacy-system monitoring and remind users to verify deposit addresses before transferring cryptocurrency.

The exchange said deposits, withdrawals and trading operations continued without interruption.
