Coinbase has launched a new marketplace for AI agents through its x402 payments protocol, aiming to expand how artificial intelligence interacts with online services.
The platform, called Agentic.market, allows users and AI agents to discover, compare and access services without requiring API keys, streamlining integration across apps.
The launch builds on the x402 protocol, which enables AI agents to make payments using stablecoins and has already processed hundreds of millions in transaction volume.
“The idea is to give humans and their agents access to thousands of services, with zero API keys required,”
Said Coinbase product lead, Nick Prince.
The marketplace provides AI agents with programmable “skills” and integrated wallets, enabling them to autonomously search, purchase and even sell services without human intervention.
Prince said the platform addresses fragmentation in the AI ecosystem, where users previously relied on scattered sources to find compatible tools.
The x402 ecosystem has gained backing from major players including Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, alongside payments firms like Visa and Mastercard, signalling growing industry support for AI-driven commerce.
