
CME Group expands crypto futures with BCH and UNI
- CME Group Inc (NASDAQ:CME) announced plans to launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures on October 19.
- The expansion introduces standard and micro-sized cash-settled contracts in response to surging client demand across high-liquidity altcoin markets.
- The initiative strengthens institutional risk management capabilities within the derivatives marketplace while pending final regulatory review.
CME Group Inc (NASDAQ:CME) has expanded its digital asset derivatives suite by announcing the launch of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures scheduled for October 19.
The derivatives rollout targets growing institutional demand for regulated risk management tools across major altcoin ecosystems.
"As crypto markets continue to mature, participants require broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset-related price risk," according to Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products Giovanni Vicioso.
Market participants will access Bitcoin Cash futures at 250 BCH and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures at 25 BCH.
"Designed for greater versatility and capital efficiency, these new BCH and UNI contracts allow clients to manage price risk and gain exposure to key crypto networks within our 24/7, regulated marketplace," Vicioso added.
Uniswap contracts will trade at standard sizes of 10,000 UNI and Micro sizes of 1,000 UNI.
The derivatives expansion builds on H1 2026 crypto futures average daily volume of 279,800 contracts representing $8.3 billion in notional value.
Following the announcement, CME Group shares were down 3.03% at $267.19.
