Circle launched a new suite of AI-focused financial infrastructure tools on Monday designed to let autonomous software agents hold funds, make payments and transact using USD Coin without human involvement.

The new platform, called Circle Agent Stack, includes agent wallets, a command-line interface, an AI agent marketplace and a nanopayments protocol capable of processing USDC transfers as small as $0.000001 without gas fees.

Circle also announced a $222 million token sale tied to its Arc network, valuing the blockchain infrastructure project at approximately $3 billion as the company expands deeper into AI and machine-to-machine commerce.

“Financial infrastructure has historically been built for people, with manual onboarding, approvals, and payment flows that were never designed for software acting on its own,”

Said Jeremy Allaire.

Allaire added that:

“Circle believed the next phase of the global economy will be increasingly AI and agent-driven”,

With AI agents themselves becoming direct customers of financial infrastructure platforms.

The company said the marketplace component would allow AI agents to discover, hire and pay other software services programmatically, potentially creating an ecosystem of autonomous machine-to-machine commerce powered by USDC.

Circle, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker CRCL, reported $77 billion in USDC circulation at the end of the first quarter, up 28% year-on-year, while the company’s shares rose nearly 16% on Monday and have climbed about 50% over the past month.
