Six dormant Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) wallets moved 553.59 BTC worth $40.15 million between August 16 and August 26.
The wallets had remained inactive for periods ranging from nearly 12 years to more than 15 years.
Galaxy Research tracked the movements from wallets dating to 2011, 2012 and 2014.
Five transfers went to addresses with no known exchange links, giving no clear sign that the Bitcoin was sold.
The sixth wallet moved 40 BTC worth about $3.14 million to an address linked to Boerse Stuttgart Digital.
Two wallets carried labels linking them to a New York lawsuit involving thousands of dormant Bitcoin addresses.
The latest movements follow other dormant-wallet activity in 2026, including 1,314.41 BTC moved by 28 wallets on August 20.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $78,849.81.
