Binance launches SpaceX pre-IPO futures bets

Share

Binance launched a pre-IPO perpetual futures contract linked to SpaceX, allowing traders to speculate on the company’s expected public market valuation before its anticipated stock market debut.

The exchange said the SPCXUSDT Pre-IPO Perpetual contract would track publicly available IPO pricing indicators, including announced valuation ranges and final offering prices, before transitioning to live market-based pricing after any future listing.

The product does not provide ownership of underlying SpaceX shares and instead offers synthetic exposure tied to the company’s expected valuation ahead of and following a potential IPO.

According to Binance, contracts linked to delayed or cancelled IPOs could be delisted and settled under a separate process, while products tied to successfully listed companies may later convert into more standard perpetual futures structures.

The launch comes as SpaceX reportedly prepares for one of the largest IPOs in US history after confidentially filing for a public offering with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in April and reportedly targeting a valuation above $1.75 trillion.

Crypto firms have increasingly introduced investment products tied to private technology companies in recent months, including Bitget launching its preSPAX offering in April and xStocks partnering with Fundrise to tokenise exposure to companies including SpaceX, Anthropic and Databricks.

A recent SEC filing also showed SpaceX held 18,712 Bitcoin purchased at an average price of $35,320 per coin, placing the company among the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holders ahead of Coinbase based on current disclosed holdings.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $77,515.16.
