Binance founder says Bitcoin could surpass gold
- Binance founder Changpeng Zhao says Bitcoin could become more important than gold during the next bull run.
- Zhao says gold remains about 10 times larger than Bitcoin by market value.
- He also expects governments and AI agents to increase their use of crypto.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) could overtake gold during the next bull run.
Zhao said gold remains about 10 times larger than Bitcoin by market value, despite the gap narrowing.
“I think Bitcoin will, for sure, become more important than gold,” Zhao said at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong.
Zhao said large countries already have systems for valuing and holding gold, making a shift to Bitcoin slower.
He also said he advises governments to build crypto reserves, using market-capitalisation weights across major cryptocurrencies.
His suggested reserve would hold about 50% Bitcoin, 10% to 20% Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), plus BNB (CRYPTO:BNB).
Zhao also expects AI agents to use crypto, beginning with stablecoins, while AI firms explore token-based funding models.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $79,839.60.
