Logistics software firm WiseTech Global (ASX:WTC) has announced the acquisition of the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, a provider of customs and border management education.

CCES will continue under the leadership of founder David Widdowson, with its online programs integrated into WiseTech's e-learning platform, WiseTech Academy.

Founded in Canberra in 2003, CCES is accredited by the World Customs Organisation and has delivered training in over 60 countries across Asia, Africa, the Americas, the Pacific, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East.

The organisation has also partnered with Charles Sturt University on undergraduate and postgraduate programs in border management and customs administration.

Tudor Maxwell, head of WiseTech Academy, said the partnership would "offer high-quality online training in customs administration and customs broking to those working in global supply chains worldwide," adding that the acquisition would make CCES' training accessible to a broader audience.

At the time of reporting, WiseTech Global's share price was $65.50.
