
Transurban traffic grows 3.4% in August

Transurban (ASX:TCL) reported a 3.4% increase in group average daily traffic during August compared to the prior corresponding period.
The August growth rate expanded from July’s 4% overall rate, though excluding West Gate Tunnel traffic, group volume grew by 1.9%.
Traffic in North America led regional growth with a 12.3% rise, supported by 495 Express Lanes growth of 26.1% following capacity additions on the Northern Extension.
Transurban stated that it will monitor geopolitical and macroeconomic impacts across energy-producing regions for the remainder of 2026.
Following the announcement, the Transurban share price was down at $13.43.
More than 90 per cent of group revenue is linked to CPI or fixed escalators, with inflation impacts typically flowing through over an 18-month timeframe.
The toll road operator completed the financial divestment of the A25 asset on June 15, removing its traffic figures from subsequent North American updates.
