Talga signs binding graphite deal with Dainen Materials
Key points
- Talga Group executed a binding offtake term sheet with Japan's Dainen Materials.
- The agreement reserves up to 2,000 tonnes per annum of natural graphite anode material starting in late 2027.
- The deal supports Japanese industry focus on securing traceable, low-emission Western battery supply chains.
Talga Group (ASX:TLG) has signed a binding offtake term sheet with Dainen Materials for the supply of up to 2,000 tonnes per annum of natural graphite anode material from Sweden.
The agreement follows a July 2026 Letter of Intent after extensive testing of the anode material against the specifications of Dainen's Japanese battery customers.
"The progression to a binding offtake term sheet with Dainen reflects the successful maturation of Talnode®-C through years of intensive testing and customer qualification in one of the world’s most demanding battery markets," said Talga Group CEO Martin Phillips.
Under the five-year agreement starting in late 2027, pricing is linked to a negotiated floor price plus an agreed premium, with both parties bound to use commercially reasonable efforts to execute a master supply agreement by March 2027.
Following the announcement, the Talga Group share price was unchanged at $0.20.
The company stated that the agreement positions it as a new Western supplier of high-performance natural graphite anode material for Japanese automotive, energy storage, and electronics manufacturers.
