SHAPE Australia secures $800M data centre expansion contract
- SHAPE Australia secured an approximately $800 million contract to expand a data centre campus in Sydney.
- Following the market announcement, the company's share price dropped 8.98% to $6.69.
- The deal supports the firm's ongoing effort to expand its market presence within the rapidly growing data centre sector.
SHAPE Australia (ASX:SHA) secured an approximately $800 million contract from DigiCo Infrastructure REIT (ASX:DGT) to execute a 52 MW expansion at its SYD1 data centre campus in Sydney.
The 52 MW expansion builds on an existing 16 MW capacity alongside a recently completed 20 MW Stage 1 upgrade to bring total campus capacity to 88 MW.
"Securing this contract is a strong endorsement of the quality and reliability we demonstrated through Stage 1 at SYD1," said SHAPE Australia CEO Peter Marix-Evans.
The head contract is a fixed-price lump-sum Design & Construct arrangement that raises the company's total work in hand to over $1.4 billion while contributing revenue across FY27 and FY28.
Following the announcement, the SHAPE Australia share price was down at $6.60.
The construction agreement uses the adaptive reuse of an existing site with pre-approved grid capacity, water access, and state development approvals.
The award follows an Early Contractor Involvement process that allowed the company to negotiate scope, design, and pricing directly with the facility owner.
