Northern Star reshuffles leadership as interim CEO steps in

Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) announced a leadership transition plan after Managing Director and CEO Stuart Tonkin stepped down from his position on Aug. 28.

The board appointed Deputy CEO Ryan Gurner as Interim CEO on Aug. 29, filling the position until incoming chief Suresh Vadnagra commences on Oct. 5.

"Through his financial acumen, integrity and leadership, Ryan has made a significant contribution to Northern Star's growth and success over his eleven years with the company, a period marked by substantial value creation," said Northern Star Resources Chairman Michael Chaney.

To support the interim leadership structure, the gold miner appointed General Manager of Finance Phillip Coetzer as Acting CFO effective Aug. 29.

Following the announcement, the Northern Star Resources share price was down at $23.47.

Gurner will resume his permanent CFO position on Oct. 5 before exiting the company on Nov. 30 after more than 11 years of service.

Northern Star stated that it will initiate a search process to select a permanent CFO to succeed Gurner.
