Mount Hope Mining begins GAIP survey across MS2 gold corridor
- Fender geophysics will run nine spreads across approximately 140 line kilometres to map the entire eight-kilometre MS2 gold corridor.
- Shares in Mount Hope Mining remained steady at $0.20 following the announcement.
- The programme aims to map beneath shallow cover and identify potential structural intersections along strike from the Mt Solitary gold prospect.
Mount Hope Mining (ASX:MHM) has commenced a gradient array induced polarisation survey across its camp-scale MS2 Gold Corridor in New South Wales.
The news follows ongoing exploration activities at the 100%-owned Mt Hope Project, where gold mineralisation is strongly controlled by structural features that remain unmapped from the surface due to shallow cover.
"This survey will give us the first continuous picture of MS2 along its full length, and we are specifically looking for fault intersections that cause the bends and jogs in the structure that tend to promote mineralisation in the Cobar Basin," said Mount Hope Mining Managing Director & CEO Fergus Kiley.
The nine 1.2km by 1.2km survey spreads cover approximately 9km in total length, with Fender Geophysics currently conducting Phase 1 across three Priority 1 spreads at the northern and southern ends of the trend.
The company stated that the survey results will guide future drill targeting, and following the announcement, the Mount Hope Mining share price was unchanged at $0.20.
Mount Hope Mining focuses on mineral exploration within the mineral-rich Cobar Basin region of New South Wales.
The broader MS2 Gold Corridor spans approximately 8km in length, linking the company's Mt Solitary and Mt Solar prospects.
