  • Moonlight Resources (ASX:ML8) commenced a maiden 2,500m drilling campaign at the Goldfinger prospect inside its Clermont Gold Project.
  • The initial market response saw the stock trade flat, maintaining its target focus on historical high-grade gold intercepts.
  • The exploration programme aims to test, verify, and extend shallow gold mineralisation identified by historical operations during the late 1980s.

Moonlight Resources (ASX:ML8) commenced its maiden 2,500m reverse circulation drilling programme at the Goldfinger prospect within its Clermont Project.

The targeted area features historical shallow gold intercepts, including 12 drill holes returning greater than 1 g/t gold with a peak assay of 44.5 g/t gold over 1m.

The company did not include executive quotes in the project commencement release.

Historical drilling by prior operators returned notable shallow intersections, such as 8m at 8.35 g/t gold from surface and 2m at 37.0 g/t gold from surface.

Following the announcement, the Moonlight Resources share price was unchanged at $0.15.

The Goldfinger prospect is located approximately 25km southwest of Clermont Central in Queensland.

The campaign follows Phase 2 drilling completion at the nearby Leo Grande Central target, where full assay results remain pending.
