Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) reported satisfactory first-quarter trading conditions while completing an $734 million share buyback.
Strong commodities trading and loan growth lifted performance across most divisions compared to the prior corresponding period.
"Trading conditions were satisfactory for the three months to June 30,” said Macquarie Group Managing Director and CEO Shemara Wikramanayake.
The company stated its Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio rose to 13.8% on June 30.
Following the announcement, the Macquarie Group share price was up at $254.93.
The financial services company completed the buyback of ordinary shares under its employee retained equity plan at $238.80 per share.
Asset management profits fell following European and American divestments, while investment banking income rose on stronger brokerage activity.
