  • The company aims to use the Phase 3 soil results to vector a maiden drill programme at the Warby Project.

Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) has started its Phase 3 soil sampling programme at its 100%-owned Warby Tungsten Project in North Queensland.

The programme follows Phase 2 sampling, which revealed tungsten soil anomalies that remain open to the northeast, southwest, north, and west.

"Our Phase 2 soils showed tungsten anomalies that remain open in multiple directions, and this infill and extension programme is designed to refine and sharpen our targeting ahead of a maiden drill programme," said Lightning Minerals Managing Director Troy Brice.

Field teams have sent the first 162 soil samples to the ALS Laboratory in Townsville, with assay results expected in October 2026, while currently collecting a further 100 samples.

Following the announcement, the Lightning Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.016.

To better characterise the mineralisation, the company sent seven wolframite and scheelite quartz vein and wall rock samples to UNSW for petrological and mineralogical studies.
