Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) appointed Troy Brice as its CEO, effective March 23.

The strategic leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment for the company as it prepares to accelerate exploration activities at its flagship Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland.

Brice enters the role with over 25 years of experience across the global resources sector, including significant tenures at industry giants such as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO), Shell Coal, and Swire Energy Services.

His extensive background spans mining, critical minerals, and energy, with a proven track record in strategic planning, mine development, and capital raisings.

Non-Executive Chairman David Vilensky expressed high confidence in the appointment, noting that Brice's leadership will be instrumental as the company enters Phase 2 of its drilling program within the next four to six weeks.

The upcoming phase follows a successful Phase 1 campaign concluded in November 2025, which confirmed a large-scale mineralised system extending over 12km.

Commenting on his new role, Brice highlighted the "significant exploration upside" at Mt Turner, stating his commitment to developing an asset optimisation strategy to drive long-term shareholder value.

At the time of reporting, Lightning Minerals' share price was $0.019.
