  • The Baúna PRA-2 well has returned to service following a well intervention programme.
  • The Karoon Energy share price increased to $1.45 following the operational update.
  • The restoration completes major capital works to drive higher production and second-half cash flow.

Karoon Energy (ASX:KAR) has restored production at its Baúna PRA-2 well, lifting total project output to approximately 22,000 bopd.

The well had been offline since Oct. 7, 2025, after its umbilical unexpectedly disconnected from the facility.

“Over the first half of 2026, we committed to restoring production and strengthening the performance and reliability of the Baúna assets,” said Karoon Energy CEO and MD Carri Lockhart.

The company stated that the PRA-2 well currently produces between 1,000 and 1,200 bopd during its ongoing cleanup phase.

Following the announcement, the Karoon Energy share price was up at $1.45.

The company recently upgraded its fiscal 2026 capital expenditure guidance to a revised range of $202 million.

This adjustment followed a separate successful production restart at the Baúna SPS-92 well alongside an expanded on-market share buyback programme.
