  • Dreadnought Resources initiated a 750-hole air core drilling campaign at its wholly-owned Illaara Gold Project.
  • The programme aims to explore large-scale gold targets following preliminary wide-spaced drilling across 10% of the greenstone belt.
  • The programme is scheduled to run over three to four months, with initial assay results expected in October.

Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) has commenced a 750-hole air core drilling programme covering approximately 50,000m at its Illaara Gold Project in Western Australia.

The programme follows earlier first-pass drilling that tested 10% of the Illaara greenstone belt and identified 13 gold mineralised corridors.

"Illaara is one of the last major greenstone belts without systematic gold exploration, and air core drilling is one of our key tools for systematic gold exploration," said Dreadnought Resources Managing Director Dean Tuck.

The current phase begins at Black Oak to define mineralised structures where previous end-of-hole drilling returned intercepts, including 18m at 0.8 g/t of gold from 36m.

Follow-up exploration will move to CRA Homestead before testing new southern and eastern targets, with assay reporting expected to begin in October.

Following the announcement, the Dreadnought Resources share price was unchanged at $0.014.

Dreadnought Resources focuses on exploring gold, critical minerals, and base metals across project areas in Western Australia.

The company utilises initial wide-spaced air core drilling to map subsurface gold anomalies before committing capital to deeper reverse circulation target testing.
