Billion Watts, a subsidiary of Billion Electric, has secured a joint development agreement with Australian energy developer Enervest to fast-track a 50MW/200MWh portfolio of distributed battery storage projects across New South Wales and Victoria.

The venture targets ten strategically selected sub-five megawatt sites designed to plug directly into local distribution networks, bolstering regional grid stability and power system strength.

Under the agreement, Billion Watts will deploy the necessary development capital and manage system integration, while Enervest spearheaded project origination and local development.

Operating within Australia's National Electricity Market, the companies intend to capture multiple revenue streams through energy arbitrage and frequency control ancillary services. Billion Watts director Elaine Chen highlighted Australia's mature regulatory framework, noting that distributed storage offers vital deployment flexibility and resilient returns.

Enervest CEO Ross Warby emphasised the growing importance of distribution-connected assets in maintaining community reliability.

The partners anticipate securing all necessary development approvals and network offers to Connect by June 2027.
