
BHP hits record iron ore output in FY26
- BHP achieved record iron ore output and produced nearly 2 million tonnes of copper in fiscal 2026.

Mining giant BHP (ASX:BHP) delivered record Western Australia iron ore production of 264.7 million tonnes and produced 1.95 million tonnes of copper in fiscal year 2026.
The operational performance met cost guidance across most major assets despite facing persistent global inflationary pressures and elevated diesel prices.
"For the second consecutive year, we produced around 2 million tonnes of copper and delivered record iron ore production," said BHP CEO Brandon Craig.
Following the announcement, the BHP share price was up at $58.28.
The business is shifting its focus towards copper developments, including the Vicuña project in Argentina and potential expansions in South Australia.
Management maintained its full-year 2027 operational guidance across all primary commodities prior to its financial results release on Aug. 18.
