About WA Kaolin

WA Kaolin (ASX:WAK) is a resources company that has steadily grown since its acquisition of kaolin resources in Western Australia in 1999, previously developed by Rio Tinto. In 2020, WA Kaolin successfully listed on the ASX after a comprehensive feasibility study for the Wickepin Kaolin Project, outlining plans to scale production to 400,000 tonnes of kaolin yearly. Kaolin is a platy white clay derived from the mineral, Kaolinite, an alumina silicate formed by hydrothermal weathering of igneous rock such as granite. As of September 2022, the company has initiated a two-stage production increase, starting with an annual target of 200,000 tonnes after completing Stage 1 of the Wickepin Processing Plant.
