THORChain

About

THORChain is a decentralized cross-chain liquidity network that enables permissionless cryptocurrency swaps across autonomous blockchain networks. Built as an independent Layer 1 network on the Cosmos SDK, the protocol uses continuous liquidity pools paired with its native asset to facilitate direct trades between native assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP Ledger, Avalanche, and Dogecoin without centralized intermediaries or wrapped token bridges. Security and consensus are maintained through a proof-of-bond network of decentralized validator nodes that lock native assets to secure cross-chain vaults. The network also provides open-source APIs and software development kits for wallet integrations.

Products and/or services of THORChain

  • Cross-Chain Liquidity Pools: Automated market maker pools pairing native cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche with a settlement asset to enable non-custodial, non-wrapped asset swaps directly across independent layer one blockchain networks without intermediaries.
  • Cross-Chain Exchange Integration Infrastructure: Back-end application programming interfaces and transaction routing infrastructure enabling third-party crypto wallets, web interfaces, and decentralized applications to execute multi-chain swaps while collecting customizable affiliate fees on processed trading volumes.
  • Validator Node Bond Security Infrastructure: A decentralized network of node operators that lock native tokens into security bonds to validate cross-chain transactions, secure multi-party computation vaults, and enforce protocol state across interconnected blockchain networks.
  • Automated Liquidity Provision and Settlement Mechanisms: On-chain asset rebalancing mechanisms that utilize continuous liquidity pools to absorb trading volatility, rebalance native asset ratios across chains, and automatically distribute trading fees to liquidity providers and node operators.
  • Protocol Fee Sharing Revenue Token Mechanics: A secondary token system that receives ten percent of network transaction fees directly from decentralized exchange activity, providing unpooled protocol income distribution without requiring holders to bond nodes or supply liquidity.
  • Developer Software Development Kits and APIs: Software development libraries, middleware indexing services, and node application programming interfaces that allow developers to build cross-chain decentralized applications, wallet integrations, and transaction monitoring tools across supported networks.
