Kirby is a domestic tank barge operator and industrial distribution company in the United States. The company operates in two main segments: Marine Transportation and Distribution and Services. Through its Marine Transportation segment, Kirby transports bulk liquid cargoes, including petrochemicals, black oil, refined petroleum products, and agricultural chemicals, across the Mississippi River System, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and all three United States coasts. Through its Distribution and Services segment, Kirby provides aftermarket service and parts for diesel engines, transmissions, reduction gears, and related industrial equipment, while also manufacturing oilfield service equipment, power generation systems, and specialized electrical distribution equipment.
