About
Bitcoin Cash is a decentralized peer-to-peer electronic cash system designed to facilitate fast, low-cost microtransactions and global payments. Created in August 2017 as a hard fork of the original Bitcoin blockchain network, the protocol increases the block size limit to allow processing a higher volume of transactions per second. The network operates through a proof-of-work consensus mechanism where miners validate blocks containing user transactions. Nodes across the peer-to-peer network maintain a shared ledger without relying on central intermediaries, financial institutions, or trusted third parties for transaction settlement and verification.

Operations
Products and/or services of Bitcoin Cash
- Peer-to-Peer Settlement Protocol: On-chain transaction framework enabling direct electronic monetary transfers between users worldwide without intermediaries, utilizing a proof-of-work consensus algorithm to clear payments on a public distributed ledger system.
- Tokenization and Smart Contracts: Protocol-layer capability enabling the issuance of custom digital tokens, non-fungible assets, and decentralized financial applications through the CashTokens upgrade, executed directly on the primary layer-one blockchain ledger without secondary network reliance.
- Full Node Client Software: Open-source node implementations, including BCHN and Knuth, that process on-chain network transactions, validate cryptographic block headers, enforce protocol consensus rules, and maintain peer-to-peer network synchronization globally.
- Merchant Payment Integration Tools: Point-of-sale software development kits and checkout gateways enabling retail and online merchants to process immediate digital payments, generate dynamic payment invoices, eliminate credit chargebacks, and settle transactions at minimal cost.
- Blockchain Explorer Infrastructure: On-chain network indexing tools and public web interfaces that allow users to inspect block heights, verify transaction cryptographic hashes, search wallet addresses, audit coin supply metrics, and monitor mempool activity.
- Protocol Upgrade Governance Specifications: Decentralized improvement framework known as CHIPs, allowing open-source developer groups and node operators to draft, evaluate, and deploy consensus protocol enhancements that expand transaction throughput and smart contract functionality.
