Xpeng (NYSE:XPEV) has set an internal delivery target of up to 600,000 vehicles for 2026, according to people familiar with the matter, as the Volkswagen-backed automaker transitions from a traditional car manufacturer into a "physical AI" powerhouse.
The target, first reported by Chinese tech portal 36Kr on Wednesday, represents an ambitious 28% to 40% growth over the 429,445 vehicles delivered in 2025.
The Guangzhou-based firm is coming off a breakout year where deliveries surged 126%, propelled by the success of the AI-defined P7+ and the budget-friendly Mona M03.
To achieve its new goal, Xpeng plans a "super product cycle" featuring seven new models, including a strategic expansion into Super Extended-Range (EREV) variants to capture buyers in regions with limited charging infrastructure.
Beyond automotive sales, 2026 marks Xpeng’s aggressive entry into embodied intelligence.
The company confirmed it will begin public road trials of its L4-capable Robotaxis and start volume production of its IRON humanoid robot by the end of the year.
Both platforms are powered by Xpeng’s proprietary Turing AI chip, which boasts 750 TOPS of computing power—enough to run large models with up to 30 billion parameters.
