Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ:WRAP) entered a strategic transaction with Israeli AI-sensing company Frenel Imaging, securing exclusive United States and NATO distribution rights for physics-based sensing technology designed for threat detection.
The agreement comes as public safety and defense organizations evaluate technologies aimed at identifying unmanned aircraft and other potential threats, including systems that operate when drones stop transmitting signals.
Wrap Technologies said the sensing technology will form part of WrapShield, its developing counter-unmanned aircraft system and autonomous public safety platform, with initial deployment focused on counter-drone operations.
The company said the Frenel technology could support broader applications beyond counter-drone use.
Wrap Technologies develops public safety and security technologies, including tools designed for law enforcement, defense and emergency response organizations.
The company has been expanding its focus on autonomous systems and counter-drone capabilities, while industry agencies continue assessing solutions for emerging unmanned aircraft risks.
