Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ:WRAP), a global leader in non-lethal public safety solutions, announced on April 10, 2026, that it has received a pre-order for 20 MERLIN-1 Counter-UAS (C-UAS) systems from Advanced Blast & Ballistic Systems (ABBS).

The order represents a significant step in Wrap’s entry into the United Kingdom and European public safety markets.

The MERLIN-1 is a modular, non-lethal, drone-mounted payload designed to disable hostile drones mid-flight using a high-velocity entangling tether.

Unlike traditional "kinetic" or fragmentation-based interceptors, the system utilizes a 7.5-foot Kevlar cord deployed at 400 feet per second.

This cord is engineered to wrap around a target drone’s propeller arms, neutralizing its flight capability without causing fragmentation or using radio frequency (RF) jamming, making it suitable for sensitive urban environments.

The partnership with ABBS—a prominent UK-based engineering firm specializing in vehicle and asset protection—aims to address the growing demand for responsible drone interdiction tools among British law enforcement and first responders.

The 20 units are expected to support demonstration and evaluation efforts as part of a broader market development push.

In addition to the MERLIN-1, Wrap is advancing its DFR-X (Drone First Responder Interdiction) platform.

The DFR-X integrates the company's patented tether technology into an autonomous-ready drone ecosystem, designed to create distance and provide a "decision advantage" for officers during dynamic tactical encounters.

Both the MERLIN-1 and DFR-X are currently tracking toward a targeted go-to-market readiness in the second quarter of 2026.
