
Walmart second quarter revenue rockets to $187.9 billion

Walmart (NASDAQ:WMT) reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $187.9 billion, up 5.9% year-over-year, while operating income increased 28.8% as eCommerce, advertising and membership revenue grew.
The results compared with the prior-year period as Walmart expanded digital sales, with global eCommerce revenue increasing 23% and advertising revenue rising 38% across its markets.
Walmart reported gross profit rate increased 96 basis points, while adjusted earnings per share was $0.81 excluding the impact of investment-related losses and a tax-related benefit, and global inventory increased 6.7% year-over-year.
The company reported membership fee revenue increased 17% globally, while Walmart U.S. advertising revenue grew 38% and operating results reflected the impact of tariff refunds, partly offset by investments in pricing.
Walmart reported return on assets of 8% and return on investment of 15.4%, while the company continued investing in retail operations, digital commerce, marketplace expansion and customer pricing initiatives.
