Vyome wins China patent for acne gel program
- Vyome Holdings (NASDAQ:HIND) received a Chinese patent for its besifloxacin topical gel program targeting inflammatory acne.
- The patent expands formulation and therapeutic use protection, including treatment of antibiotic-resistant acne.
- Vyome said the intellectual property strengthens its position in China’s estimated $600 million annual acne market by 2035.
Vyome Holdings (NASDAQ:HIND) said the China National Intellectual Property Administration granted a patent covering formulation and therapeutic uses for its besifloxacin topical gel program.
The approval strengthens Vyome’s intellectual property position in dermatology compared with its earlier-stage patent protection focused primarily on broader compound claims.
The patent includes claims for treating inflammatory acne, acne-related inflammation, and antibiotic-resistant Propionibacterium acnes infections.
Vyome said the expanded protection improves its positioning in China’s dermatology market, which it estimates could reach about $600 million annually by 2035.
The company said its lead clinical priority remains VT-1953 for malignant fungating wounds, while the acne program is being developed as a secondary asset.
Vyome said the stronger intellectual property estate may support future licensing or partnering opportunities without requiring significant additional investment.
The company added that formulation-level innovation is a key component of its broader strategy to build value across its immuno-inflammatory pipeline.
