
VivoSim receives $5 million Lilly milestone
- VivoSim received a $5 million milestone after Eli Lilly dosed the first patient in Phase 2 studies of its acquired IBD drug.
- VivoSim shares were up about 2% at $0.83 in premarket trading following the announcement.
- The company forecast more than 500% revenue growth for FY2027 as pharmaceutical customers adopt its NAMkind research models.
VivoSim Labs (NASDAQ:VIVS) received $5 million from Eli Lilly (NYSE:LL) after first Phase 2 dosing and could earn another $45 million.
VivoSim sold its FXR314 inflammatory bowel disease program to Eli Lilly in March 2025 for $10 million upfront and up to $50 million in milestones.
Eli Lilly controls the drug’s clinical development and worldwide commercial rights, while VivoSim’s future payments depend on regulatory and commercial targets.
VivoSim forecast more than 500% FY2027 revenue growth from NAMkind contract research but did not provide a dollar revenue target.
Following the announcement, VivoSim Labs' share price was up about 2% at $0.83 in premarket trading.
VivoSim said its liver model achieved 91% predictive accuracy, while its intestine models produced greater than 90% sensitivity and accuracy for drug-induced diarrhea.
The FDA is encouraging validated human-relevant NAMs, including organoid and computational models, as alternatives to some animal-based preclinical testing.
