  • VERAXA Biotech (NASDAQ:VRXA) announced its bispecific antibody-drug conjugate program VXA-222 advanced past the initial discovery phase.
  • OmniAb successfully concluded its specific discovery work and remains entitled to a designated share of future product revenue.
  • VERAXA Biotech stated it will proceed to conduct formal in vitro and in vivo validation procedures.

VERAXA Biotech (NASDAQ:VRXA) announced that its VXA-222 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate programme has reached a technical milestone and advanced into the next phase of its collaboration with OmniAb (NASDAQ:OABI).

The programme originated from a May 2025 alliance between the companies, under which OmniAb used its antibody discovery technologies to generate antibody leads for VERAXA’s development efforts.

VERAXA said VXA-222 uses an “AND-gate” design that targets two antigens on solid tumours within a single molecule, and the company will now conduct in vitro and in vivo validation studies.

The company holds exclusive development and commercialisation rights for products using OmniAb-derived antibodies, while OmniAb is entitled to receive a share of specified revenue from those products.

VERAXA Biotech develops antibody-based therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate programmes designed to target cancer-related biological mechanisms.

The company said the next collaboration phase will focus on applying its proprietary technologies and evaluating the potential of VXA-222 for future development.
