V2X secures navy contract for Marine Corps KC-130J infrared countermeasures
V2X (NYSE:VVX) has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to support the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) program.
The defense technology and services provider will manage the systems integration of the critical laser-based survivability platform, which is designed to defend military aircraft by detecting, tracking, and jamming incoming infrared-guided missile threats.
Under the terms of the agreement, V2X will perform the LAIRCM installations on multiple United States Marine Corps (USMC) KC-130J transport and tanker aircraft.
The modification work will be executed at the company’s specialized aerospace modernization and integration center located in Crestview, Florida.
Corporate leadership highlighted the facility's role as an industry center of excellence for C-130 variants, citing its logistical infrastructure, which includes an 8,000-foot instrumented runway and over 500,000 square feet of high-bay manufacturing and assembly hangar space.
V2X has executed hundreds of distinct C-130 structural and avionics modifications at the Florida site over the past decade.
Financial details and explicit timelines for the multi-aircraft integration schedule were not immediately disclosed.
