Utah Medical Products (NASDAQ:UTMD) announced that its Femcare subsidiary acquired all common shares of UK-based Orion Medical Supplies for £3.6 million paid from company cash reserves.

The acquisition expands Femcare’s medical device operations in the United Kingdom and adds Orion’s established harm-reduction kit business serving healthcare organizations.

Utah Medical Products said Orion’s operations will move into Femcare’s Romsey facilities, allowing the company to use existing infrastructure and reduce UK overhead costs.

The acquisition is expected to contribute approximately $6 million in annual sales.

Utah Medical Products develops and manufactures medical devices, including products used in women’s health and surgical procedures through its Femcare business.

The company said Orion’s existing relationships with the NHS and other European organizations provide a foundation for continued sales growth and potential geographic expansion.
