USA Rare Earth (NASDAQ:USAR) completed its combination with Serra Verde Group on September 3, 2026, creating an integrated rare earth and permanent magnet platform spanning Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.

The combination adds Serra Verde’s heavy rare earth mine and processing facility in Goiás, Brazil, which began production in January 2024 and is undergoing expansion efforts.

USA Rare Earth stated that Serra Verde’s first optimization stage is expected to reach a production run rate of approximately 4,000 tonnes per year of total rare earth oxides (TREO) by the end of 2026.

The company said Serra Verde’s second expansion stage is under construction and targets average production of 6,400 tonnes per year of TREO, with commissioning expected to begin within 12 months.

Former Serra Verde Chief Executive Officer Thras Moraitis becomes President and a director of USA Rare Earth and is expected to succeed CEO Barbara Humpton upon her retirement on October 1, 2026.

USA Rare Earth develops rare earth supply chain capabilities, including mining, processing, and permanent magnet production, as demand grows for critical minerals used in technology and industrial applications.
