
Oil stocks fall as crude prices decline

U.S. oil stocks declined as crude prices fell, with the S&P 500 energy index down 1.9% after reports that additional Saudi crude cargoes were available through Oman.
Brent crude futures fell 1.12% to $107.53 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures declined 1.91% to $105.83 per barrel.
Major energy companies including ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) and Chevron (NYSE:CVX) declined 2.1% and 1.8%, respectively, while ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP), EOG Resources (NYSE:EOG), Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY), and Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ:FANG) fell between 4.1% and 8%.
Oilfield services companies also moved lower, with SLB (NYSE:SLB) declining 1.5% and Halliburton (NYSE:HAL) falling 1.2%.
Crude prices had recently risen amid concerns about supply disruptions in the Middle East and impacts on global oil flows.
The latest decline reflected changing market expectations as traders assessed supply availability and ongoing geopolitical developments.
