Upland Software reports improved net loss in Q1 2026

Share

Upland Software (NASDAQ:UPLD) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, showcasing a leaner operational profile following significant divestitures completed in the previous year.

Total revenue for the quarter was $48.7 million, representing a 24% decrease from $63.7 million in the first quarter of 2025.

This top-line decline was primarily attributed to the strategic sale of non-core assets as part of the company's shift toward high-margin, AI-powered knowledge and content management solutions.

Subscription and support revenue, the company's core economic driver, followed a similar trend, totaling $46.1 million compared to $60.2 million in the prior-year period.

Despite the smaller revenue base, Upland demonstrated marked improvement in its bottom-line performance.

The GAAP net loss narrowed significantly to $1.2 million, or $0.09 per share, compared to a staggering $25.8 million loss, or $0.97 per share, in the first quarter of 2025.

Operational efficiency remained a bright spot for the company.

Adjusted EBITDA was $12.7 million, and while slightly lower in absolute dollars than the $13.1 million reported a year ago, the adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 26% of total revenue, up from 21%.
