
Unilever sees sales rise 5.8% in second quarter

Unilever (NYSE:UL) reported underlying sales growth of 5.8% in the second quarter, exceeding the estimated 4.14%, as total revenue reached €13.05 billion compared with the €12.87 billion forecast.
Beauty & Wellbeing sales increased 8.1%, Personal Care grew 5.9% and Home Care advanced 9.1%, while Foods recorded weaker growth of 0.2% against the estimated 1.66%.
Unilever said it expects full-year underlying sales growth of between 4% and 6%, supported by approximately 3% volume growth and second-half sales growth of between 4% and 5%.
Underlying volume increased 5.5% compared with the expected 2.29%, while divisional revenue reached €3.40 billion for Beauty & Wellbeing, €3.54 billion for Personal Care, €3.01 billion for Home Care and €3.10 billion for Foods.
Underlying operating profit reached €5.19 billion, operating margin remained at 20.3%, earnings per share increased to €1.61 and the dividend was set at €0.4664 per share.
