United Microelectronics (NYSE:UMC), a leading global semiconductor foundry, reported on April 8, 2026, its unaudited net sales for March 2026, showing continued year-over-year gains in a stabilizing global chip market.

Revenues for the month reached NT$20,830,626,000, a 4.89% increase compared to the NT$19,858,647,000 recorded in March 2025.

The monthly figure also represents a significant sequential gain from February, as the foundry continues to benefit from steady demand in automotive and industrial silicon, as well as the early-year ramp-up of consumer electronics.

For the first quarter of 2026 (January through March), UMC’s consolidated net sales totaled NT$61,037,902,000.

This represents a 5.49% increase over the NT$57,858,957,000 reported during the first quarter of the previous year.

The results reflect the company’s ability to maintain high utilization rates across its diversified node offerings, particularly in mature and specialty processes.

The quarterly performance aligns with broader industry trends in 2026, where foundry leaders are navigating a transition toward high-performance computing and AI-integrated edge devices.
