Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) partnered with Zipline to launch autonomous Uber Eats drone deliveries in the U.S., targeting one million daily deliveries by the end of 2029.
The agreement follows Uber’s 2025 partnership and investment in drone operator Flytrex, while financial terms of its new Zipline investment were not disclosed.
The service will begin in existing Zipline U.S. markets later this year before targeting dozens of additional cities, while Zipline has completed more than 2.7 million deliveries.
Uber and Zipline said they plan to expand autonomous delivery at scale across the U.S.
Following the announcement, Uber's share price was up 0.7% at $76.47.
Uber is building a delivery network combining human couriers, sidewalk robots and drones, and its earlier Flytrex agreement similarly paired Uber Eats integration with an investment in the drone company.
Zipline operates across four continents and works with businesses including Walmart, Panera, Chipotle and Wendy’s, while Reuters reported the company was valued at $7.6 billion after an $800 million funding round earlier in 2026.
