Tutor Perini Corp. (NYSE:TPC) won a major U.S. federal construction award that could generate up to $900 million in work over the next seven years, strengthening the contractor’s footprint in the Middle East.
The company said Tuesday that its Perini Management Services Inc. subsidiary received a construction multiple-award task order contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Middle East District.
The MATOC establishes a shared capacity of $900 million, covering a two-year base period with five optional one-year extensions.
The program will support design-bid-build projects in Israel, primarily for the Israeli Ministry of Defense, though other U.S. government customers with requirements in the country may also utilize it.
Under the framework, PMSI will compete for individual task orders that may span a broad range of work, including maintenance, repairs, new construction, demolition, excavation and large-scale site improvements.
Potential projects include airfield aprons, aircraft hangars, utility plants, warehouses and other military or operational facilities.
The award expands PMSI’s longstanding resume of delivering complex projects across the Middle East.
The business has previously executed U.S. government and defense-related contracts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Egypt.
Tutor Perini did not disclose the anticipated timing of initial task orders or revenue recognition but said the contract reinforces its strategy of pursuing large, federally funded international infrastructure programs.
