Trump’s Greenland gambit sparks a new tariff war with Europe

Trump has announced fresh tariffs on major European economies, explicitly tying them to his push to gain control of Greenland.

A 10% import tax lands from February, rising to 25% by June if no deal is reached, as Brussels prepares nearly €93bn in potential retaliation and markets eye fallout for autos, luxury and industrials.
