Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ:TSCO) reported second-quarter sales of $4.54 billion, up 2.3%, although comparable-store sales declined 1.5%.
Net income fell 16.1% to $360.7 million, while diluted EPS decreased from $0.81 to $0.69.
Tractor Supply recorded $75.3 million of Petsense and VIP Petcare costs and cut adjusted EPS guidance to $1.90–$2.
Following the announcement, Tractor Supply's share price was down 0.8% at $29.36 in premarket trading.
The company opened 28 Tractor Supply stores and three Petsense stores, ending the quarter with 2,672 locations.
Tractor Supply plans to close approximately 75 Petsense stores and is integrating VIP Petcare into its animal-health portfolio.
